Making Strides in Kentucky

With the highest rate of child homelessness in the country and an opioid epidemic wreaking havoc, Kentucky has a state organization with a mandate to grow. Thanks in part to $72,000 in grant funding from National CASA, the Kentucky CASA Network transformed its board, adding seven new members.

It also developed a best practices handbook for programs in the state, created two new CASA programs and laid the groundwork for five more and saw its state and federal grant funding grow by 400 percent.

The Kentucky CASA Network also added new staff members to provide support to local programs and bolstered statewide volunteer recruitment efforts with in-kind marketing support.
