A Donor Who Makes Progress Possible
As a long-term supporter of National CASA, Ron Honeyman is well known around the network, having attended 22 consecutive National CASA/GAL conferences over the years. When asked about his involvement with the CASA movement, he attributes it all to one person: his wife, Joyce.
As a member of Kappa Alpha Theta’s board, Joyce was instrumental in creating the partnership with National CASA in 1992, and she drove the family’s philanthropic giving that has meant so much to our work. As Ron explained, downplaying his personal involvement during the early years when Joyce was on the National CASA Board of Trustees, he simply “went along to carry her suitcase.”
In reality, Ron has always been a steadfast supporter of the CASA/GAL network. Since Joyce passed away in 2014, he has continued to give generously to support our mission and the work of volunteer advocates across the country.
In fact, in 2016 alone, Ron made seven gifts in honor of family members’ birthdays and other milestones.
